Yesterday, I was inspired by this video (posted on the SpaceWeather website,) to try for an image of NASA’s LCROSS craft as it passed through the constellation Bootes. Not having my own imaging setup, I accessed the Slooh remote observatory off the coast of NW Africa and managed two images to create a short video. Unfortunately, the imaging parameters at that particular observatory allow for images no less than ten minutes apart, so my video is not as good as I had hoped. Nonetheless, it is an exciting experienced to have imaged a NASA spacecraft at such a great distance, especially one that will intentionally impact the Moon.
